Join us for our first, Book Club in Brief: Essays on Rights and Resistance, discussion group! A good essay can provide a place of refuge for those seeking to understand the pervasive anger currently infecting American life. This summer East City Bookshop will hold a three-week series discussing three contemporary essays to generate constructive conversation, help our customers see how persuasive writing still has a place in American life, and lead those who take part in the discussion to reading books that relate to these essays.
This week's essay and discussion will focus on open and closed questions in American Life. For the essay link, please see below.
The Mother of All Questions by Rebecca Solnit from Harper’s magazine (from Solnit’s book The Mother of All Questions).
This discussion series is free and open to the public; just read the essay above and show up to discuss.
