Truly the best written book I've ever read. The whole book takes place in the span of 24 hours, following Rufus and Mateo and the way that they found each other on their last day on earth. It's a queer love story unlike anything you've ever read, and Silvera does an incredible job of weaving it all together. It's captivating and breathtaking and brilliant and heart breaking because, well, they both die at the end.
This is a book I wish I'd had in high school. This is a delightfully written, queer, modern retelling of the classic fairytale. Not only that, but it's also a powerful story about revolution and what happens when we stand up against an oppressive patriarchy to fight for a better world. There are so many reasons to love this story, and I'd recommend to anyone who wants to restore their faith in the world again.
This Pride and Prejudice inspired, modern romantic comedy is my new comfort read. It's silly, sweet, and sapphic. Perfect for curling up on a rainy day and make you believe in true love again.
A coming of age / coming out story with discussions on racism and cultural appropriation, this story is funny, sweet, raw, and real. You love each of these characters, and you're rooting for them every step of the way. If you want to read a contemporary ya novel, it should be this one.
